ComSpec is a wireless telecommunications infrastructure company in Greensboro, North Carolina. We primarily work in commercial new construction. We are hiring for a field position whose primary responsibilities will be installation of cabling, conduit, and equipment for various wireless communications systems. Installers will work alongside other installers and technicians in various construction environments as part of a team, or alone when required. We work all over North Carolina and have job-sites up and down the east coast. The role will involve travel, sometimes overnight.
Applicants are not expected to be experts in all listed job functions. On-the-Job-Training is a critical part of this role. When not in the field, installers will be expected to continue working on certifications and advancing their skills as well as fulfilling other roles around the warehouse and office as needed.
Job Functions:
1. Pull and terminate various types of communication cabling such as coax, multi-conductor copper, or fiber.
2. Install conduit in accordance with approved construction drawings and code requirements.
3. Install equipment in accordance with approved construction drawings and manufacturers specifications.
4. Travel to job sites as required. Some job sites will require overnight stays. Expect overnight trips to occur a few times per month.
5. Earn industry certifications and licensing to advance.
General Skills:
1. Knowledge of power tools and hand tools
2. Basic electrical knowledge
3. Work safely on a scissor lift, boom lift, and ladder
4. Ability to lift 75lbs
5. Ability to climb stairs and walk across uneven surfaces
6. Ability to work in outdoor and indoor environments in various weather conditions
Transferable work experience:
Cable/Internet installer or technician or outside plant construction
Fire Alarm installer
Cellular technician
Electrician or electrician maintenance technician
Security Installer
Other skilled trades work
Relevant Certifications:
OSHA 10 for general construction, OSHA 30
General Radio Operator License (GROL)
National Institute of Certified Engineering Technicians In-Building Public Safety (NICET)
NICET certifications for Fire Alarm installation or design
Manufacturer certificates such as Comba, ADRF, Honeywell, Fiplex, Westell
Networking certifications such as Cisco, CommScope,
