We’re looking for a highly competent Jr. Underwriter to support the efficient and accurate assessment of deals for our growing loan portfolio.

About the Job
This role is an integral part of the Underwriting team and is all about supporting Rain City’s critical assessment of deals, from conditions to funding. Here are some of the things you’ll be doing day-to-day in this role:
- Review files and proactively communicate conditions needed before sending to underwriting
- Identify loan-level issues and items that will delay funding
- Review and confirm applications, credit, background, title, assets, and valuations
- Keep the system up to date with all required information
- Assist loan processing and underwriting department with appraisal order follow up
- Investigate properties (zoning, property type etc.)
- Partner with loan officers and processing to resolve file, document, or post-closing issues
- Efficiently meet deadlines while maintaining multiple assignments/projects
- Other duties as assigned

Skills and Attributes
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a loan processor or underwriter
- Strong understanding of mortgage process flow, from processing to closing
- Experience with automated underwriting systems helpful
- Inquisitive, investigative mindset—find, analyze, and solve problems
- Recognizes and asks follow-up questions necessary to fully understand issues and develop proper solutions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively communicate and maintain great relationships
- Solution-oriented and nimble thinker with excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Great attention to detail, immaculately organized, and ruthless in the pursuit of meeting deadlines
- Ability to react quickly to changing priorities and multitask, enjoys a fast-paced work environment
- Energetic and dependable self-starter
- Reliable, punctual, and able to prioritize and perform all major job roles with minimal supervision
- Willingness to help other team members/departments when needed, including occasionally working flexible hours to accommodate volume

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
