Production Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations on either our 2nd or 3rd shift team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is responsible for overseeing production employees, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, driving productivity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced food packaging environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with experience in manufacturing, food production, packaging, or a regulated production environment. This individual will be committed to building engaged teams, ensuring compliance with food safety requirements, and delivering operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals are achieved.
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees to drive high performance and employee engagement.
- Monitor production schedules and staffing levels to meet customer demand and operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and company policies and procedures.
- Conduct shift start-up meetings, communicate production goals, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve performance.
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Operations teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Track and report key performance metrics, including throughput, waste, downtime, labor efficiency, and quality performance.
- Support employee training, onboarding, performance management, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate production records and shift documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
- Foster a positive work environment that emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, packaging, consumer products, or related industries.
- Experience supervising hourly production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety regulations, and quality systems preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production reporting systems, ERP systems, or manufacturing software is a plus.
- Ability to analyze production data and make informed operational decisions.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all safety requirements.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
