Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Auto Body Prepper to join our dynamic automotive repair team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting and refinishing by performing surface preparation, masking, sanding, and other essential tasks. Your expertise will ensure that each vehicle meets our high standards for quality and craftsmanship, contributing to flawless auto body repairs and restorations. Responsibilities
- Perform surface preparation including sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Mask off areas of vehicles using surface preparation masking techniques to protect non-painted surfaces.
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and spray guns for auto body refinishing, painting, and coating applications.
- Conduct auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel alignment, and minor structural adjustments.
- Operate conventional spray guns and airless paint sprayers to apply primers, paints, and coatings with precision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly handling paints, solvents, and other materials while adhering to respiratory protection standards.
- Assist with auto glass replacement or repair as needed during the prep process.
- Support auto restoration projects by preparing surfaces for finishing and detailing vehicles to meet customer expectations.
- Follow safety protocols related to heavy lifting, the use of power tools, and automotive surface preparation techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dealership or automotive repair shop is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair processes including sanding, buffing, painting, and coating spray guns.
- Proficiency with hand tools, grinders, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment.
- Familiarity with automotive buffing techniques and detailing processes.
- Experience in vehicle maintenance or auto restoration projects is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive surface preparation methods including masking and sanding techniques.
- Ability to operate welding equipment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Pay: $650.00 - $900.00 per week
