This position will report to the Controller but work closely with Operations, Accounts Payable, Information Technologies and Payroll.

Responsibilities Include
- Track company fixed assets for depreciation and insurance reporting purposes
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and complete corresponding reconciliations for clearing accounts, payroll and intercompany activities
- Serve as a back-up for other Payroll and other key functions
- Assist with cash and fuel reconciliations
- Assist with technology implementation projects
- Produce various financial reports for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
- Complies with federal, state, and local tax and informational reporting requirements.
- Prepare special financial reports and analysis as requested by management
- Assist management with internal/external audits and periodic financial and tax reporting
- Maintain documented policies and procedures.
- Additional office management responsibilities and other support tasks as required
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong accounting knowledge and Solid understanding of GAAP
- Above average Excel & Word skills for creating and managing extensive detailed spreadsheets and reports
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems

- Attention to detail, deadline-oriented, computer savvy, a process improver
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems
Experience & Education
- Degree in Accounting/Finance desirable
- CPA eligible candidate preferred
- 2 years of Accounting experience in a diverse and complex environment
- Experience in the transportation industry highly desirable
- Knowledge of TMW or Truckmate software is a plus but not required.
