The Metro Group, Inc., located in Long Island City, is currently looking for a Welder/Boiler Mechanic for its Mechanical Division. The position is full-time and permanent, with union entry and company benefits. Job specifics will involve welding for repairs, modifications, or installations of various boiler components and associated equipment.
Characteristics of a qualified applicant include:
- Experience welding on steel boilers
- Ability to work with stick weld
- General experience working on boilers and in boiler rooms

- Enthusiastic about taking on assignments and responsibilities

- Capable of working in a professional environment and providing great customer service while on a job site
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of this position
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
Additional responsibilities could include:
- Driving a company vehicle
- Lifting tools, materials and equipment.
- Performing other miscellaneous tasks to support the operation, when needed. For example, assisting with other job types, doing material pick-up and deliveries, etc.
Experiece: 5 years (preferred)
