Weekend Shift
This position works on Day shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. 40 hours per week.
Position Description
The duties provides a secondary step to material selection for the completion of the total door package before shipment to the customer, ensuring the highest quality and care is taken to exceed customer expectations and satisfaction. This position must use CNC equipment to machine aluminum extrusion materials for assembly. This includes drilling hole, cutting lengths, widths, and notches etc. so that materials fit together seamlessly during the assembly process. The employee must use care in selecting the appropriate color, length and materials for the individual order. Training will be provided in each step process whenever practical.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Maintain a safety-first mindset in all work activities; recommend and support safety initiatives.
- Read and interpret job order instructions for individual customer orders.
- Select correct materials and quantities for each order.
- Follow work instructions precisely to complete door packages.
- Understand daily production goals and work at a pace that meets or exceeds requirements.
- Inspect raw materials for defects or damage prior to machining.
- Fabricate parts to precise dimensions using machine tools.
- Select and run pre-set CNC programs per customer specifications.
- Perform de-burring of products.
- Determine offsets and adjust on-screen values to maintain tolerance.
- Change and measure tooling as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of CNC set-up operator experience is required.
- Ability to use basic math, including fractions, for measuring and calculating dimensions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail with fine visual and manual skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to operate punch presses.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
- Ability to read and understand layouts, shop orders, and process control documents.
Physical Demands
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. This is a standing position for with some walking up to 10 hours per day on a concrete factory floor. Frequent use of hand and hand tools to assembly parts. Ability to lift 30 or more pounds both overhead and at waist level. The employee is required to walk, reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Exposure to intermediate/loud noise is expected when working in the manufacturing environment. The work environment is climate controlled.
