Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Supply Chain Analyst to support and manage Crew Services operations, including transportation and lodging for Train & Engine (T&E), Engineering, and Mechanical personnel. This role is responsible for sourcing, procurement support, supplier management, and operational optimization across the Crew Services portfolio.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of supply chain expertise, technical skills (Python, Power BI, SAP), and experience in engineering-related environments (Mechanical or Engineering) to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service quality.
Primary Purpose
Manage and oversee the Crew Services portfolio, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier relationships related to transportation and lodging services. Support procurement activities while ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage vendors providing transportation and lodging services, including:
- Contract negotiation and administration
- Performance monitoring and service quality assurance
- Cost control and optimization
- Coordinate transportation of T&E crews across the network and lodging for T&E, Engineering, and Mechanical personnel
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and optimize Crew Services strategies to:
- Improve operational efficiency
- Reduce costs
- Enhance service delivery
- Monitor contractor compliance with operational safety standards, including environmental and regulatory requirements
- Support sourcing and purchasing activities related to crew transportation and lodging
- Analyze supplier performance and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Utilize data tools and systems (SAP, Power BI, Python) to:
- Develop reporting and dashboards
- Improve decision-making
- Enhance process automation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, engineering, and mechanical teams
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum: 3 5 years of relevant experience
- Preferred: 6 10 years in supply chain, logistics, or procurement
- Education:
- Bachelor s Degree (BA/BS) preferred
- Preferred background in:
- Supply Chain
- Engineering (Mechanical or related)
- Business or Analytics
Technical Skills
- SAP (procurement, vendor management, or supply chain modules)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (data analysis, modeling)
- Power BI (dashboarding and reporting)
- Python (data analysis, automation, or scripting)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with web-based systems and portals
