Position Overview
This position provides the producer with various client servicing needs by being a liaison between producer, client and/or staff to communicate information in an effective and expedient manner. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Prospects and New Business Accounts
- Prequalify accounts with agent.
- Review account and discuss market, coverage and pricing options with agent.
- Assist agent with preparation of submission to markets.
- Market accounts with parameters on coverage, pricing, loss sensitive plans, services, commission and target due date for quote.
- Review quotes and make adjustments to quotes as needed.
- Review quote with agent and prepare proposal if needed.
- Bind coverage per agency procedures.
- Review policies and request for corrections as needed.
Renewal and Servicing of Accounts
- Review expiration list and discuss market, coverage and pricing options with agent at least 4 months prior to expiration.
- Re-markets renewals, contact clients, and handle other renewal activities in coordination with producer(s).
- Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals as needed.
- Bind coverage or renew account per agency procedures.
- Renews policies following agency standards; verifies each renewal's accuracy; ensures that all renewals are produced.
- Reviews audits of polices; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
- Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating correction when necessary.
- Assist with client phone call requests. This includes preparing a change request and submitting it on the Agent's behalf.
- Assist with follow-ups on payments, reminder notices, cancellations, etc.
- Assist with claim reports including preparing the report and submitting it to agency claims division.
- Other clerical functions such as, but not limited to, mailing, filing, xeroxing, faxing, emailing.
Agency Procedures and Service Standards
- Use the Agency Procedures as a guide to work efficiently and productively, and to minimize errors & omissions.
- Meet or exceed Service Standards
- Maintain electronic and paper files per the Agency Procedures.
- Coverage and limits should meet or exceed Agency Minimum Standards.
Unauthorized Duties
- Outside work such as taking photos and picking abstracts. The producer is responsible for gathering the information. Employees are discouraged from using their personal vehicles for company business.
Education/License
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Job Charter Measurements Standards
- Adhere to and comply with established Agency procedures.
- Adhere to standards or performance within Employee Handbook.
Reporting Relationships
- Reports directly to designated Producer. In Producer's absence, report to Underwriting Manager.
- Designated Manager will complete an annual Evaluation.
Qualifications
- Active California Property & Casualty License.
- Minimum 5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience.
- Experience managing a commercial lines book of business.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages and policy structures.
- Experience marketing accounts and working directly with insurance carriers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with middle-market commercial accounts.
- Knowledge of commercial underwriting principles and rating methodologies.
- Experience reviewing contracts and insurance requirements.
- Proficiency with agency management systems and carrier portals.
