Position Description Summary:
The Deli Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Road Runner Deli program through building, coaching, and training a team of employees. Oversees and ensures that the deli area complies with company values and standards including: (1) cleanliness, (2) store and foodservice, (3) sanitation, (4) customer service and (5) merchandising.
This position is responsible for consistently and safely delivering a fast, fresh, and friendly customer experience by directing and coordinating all aspects of food handling and preparation. maximizing sales and profitability, controlling expenses, maintaining stock levels and inventory and ensuring the flawless execution of food programs for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises and directs the food services. Must be willing to obtain and maintain food safety certification, Serve Safe; also ensure that all federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.

Ensures excellent customer service.

Hiring, training and development of employees in the deli.

Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures.

Maximizes sales and profitability.

Regularly communicates with Store Manager regarding store operations, staff performance, staff scheduling and any issues that may arise.

Manages quality and consistent marketing and merchandising of foodservice programs.

Engages with merchandising team to suggest ways to increase sales, expand markets and promote our business

Ensures quality and consistent implementation of all marketing, merchandising, foodservice
- Plans and prepares work schedules to provide the best possible level of customer service.

Responsible for ensuring compliance with product dating, and in particular checking for out-of-date merchandise daily, and tagging specific merchandise with out-of-date codes, as well as items that need to be discarded.
- Promote and establish a customer first mentality where team members greet, assist, provide efficient service and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business-like manner in order to promote the company image as a service-oriented operation.

Maintains a safe and secure environment, adhering to all safety, food safety, and security programs, guidelines and regulations. Ensures food safety requirements are adhered to including hand washing, temping, food storage and employee health, and taking action as needed to correct unsafe situations.

Forecasts and orders all inventory stock in accordance to established guidelines; Accepts deliveries by verifying orders against the receiving invoice and inspection for product quality; Ensures product handling meets standards to include: labeling, date coding, rotation of stock, all other handling and storage

Responsible for following company processes to interview and hire, training new Deli staff members, communicating proper procedures and expectations to ensure consistency as outlined.

Ensures all store operational paperwork is executed and reconciled, to include but not limited to: Weekly and Monthly inventory counts, spoilage reporting, inventory ordering, production requirements, sales reporting

Basic Qualifications:
-
High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.
-
Stocking may require lifting up to 50 pounds.

Intermittent sitting, standing, or bending.

Exposure to cold temperatures when stocking refrigerator units
-
Ability to use safety equipment, including dolly, or hand cart for lifting heavy boxes or other store items, ladders, and grills or deep cooking fryers.

A minimum of one (1) year of convenience store experience is required.

One year of Previous experience in fast food, restaurant, retail or convenience store food operations is required.

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass MVR standards.

Must be at least 21 years of age

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required

A minimum of one-year supervising and training employees is required

Intermediate computer skills required

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Must be willing to obtain certifications required by state regarding food service

Must be adept at basic mathematical skills.

Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Must have solid communication skills (written and verbal)
