Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management and aseptic technique standards.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take high-quality dental x-rays, including dental radiographs and 3D scans, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, dental terminology, vital signs, and medical imaging results.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans while demonstrating excellent patient care skills.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures to maintain clinic hygiene standards and prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and handling administrative tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and clinical workflows.
- Proficiency in dental assisting tools including dental equipment, X-ray machines, and 3D scanners.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic for medical documentation and records management.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control policies.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards.
- Knowledge of dental terminology related to various specialties such as endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and provide outstanding patient care.
- Certification in X-ray safety and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in HIPAA compliance is required.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
