Kingdom Development, Inc. is a financial advisory firm that guides real estate developers in building affordable housing using government financing programs.
Over ten years we've grown to 66 employees across two offices and a growing portfolio of properties we operate directly.
We use MS Excel, MS Access, and Azure SQL as our core technology stack, and we're looking for a talented developer to help us expand and improve the tools that run this business.
This is a direct-report-to-the-president role.
You will work closely with leadership to understand business needs and translate them into practical, well-designed database views, queries, and front-end tools.
You'll be relieving the president's development workload and extending an established architectural vision - not building from scratch and not making it up as you go.
What you'll be building
- Azure SQL views, stored procedures, and data pipelines
- MS Excel and MS Access front ends for a growing property management operation
- Onboarding and workflow tools for non-technical staff
- Reporting dashboards for operational visibility
What this is not
- A web development role
- A solo startup where you define everything yourself
- A ticket-queue job where you wait for specs
Skill Requirements
Required
- 5+ years working in the Microsoft data ecosystem (SQL Server or Azure SQL, Excel, Access)
- Strong T-SQL - comfortable writing complex queries, views, stored procedures, and understanding query performance
- VBA proficiency - able to read, write, and debug VBA in MS Excel and MS Access without scaffolding
- Experience designing relational schemas or extending existing ones sensibly
- Ability to build functional, clean front ends in MS Excel or MS Access for non-technical end users
- Works independently without daily hand-holding once context is established
Strongly Preferred
- Familiarity with XLOOKUP, Power Query, or dynamic array formulas
- Experience supporting operations teams or back-office functions (not just IT projects)
- Exposure to property management, real estate, accounting, or government-regulated industries
Not Required
- Web frameworks, cloud-native architecture, or modern DevOps tooling
- Python, R, or data science tooling
