SUMMARY:
Analyze and review loans, promotes and cross sells loans and deposit services based on member needs. Makes loan decisions and identifies sales opportunities and services for loan interviewers and assists with training loan interviewers. Centralized lender in the Loan Service Center is tasked with decisioning LSC Specialists loan request, MSR Branch loan request from Branch Queues and online loans. The function of the Loan Officers in the centralized lending process is to promote and identify sales opportunities that assist LSC Specialist and branch MSR’s with their cross-selling efforts and to approve/deny requests for credit. Decisions indirect lending loans. Responsible for meeting organizational sales goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Meets assigned productivity and service goals
- Within their individual loan authority limit, underwrite loan applications originated by LSC Specialists and branch personnel.
- Based on the information obtained from the loan application, credit report, and loan originator, determine possible member needs in preapproving and offering appropriate loan and deposit products to fill those needs.
- Interviews, takes applications when needed. Approves or denies applications and disburses the full range of credit union loans (except real estate), reviews and either approves or denies credit card applications, including increases.
- Responsible for quality control. Responsible for proper loan documentation, verification and follow up for completeness.
- Decisions and makes exceptions within loan policy for new and used Indirect auto loans with approved participating auto dealerships.
- Back up funding processor for Indirect Loans approved by other Loan Officers.
- Coach/train the interviewer in the necessary procedures, compliance, and documentation for loan origination.
- Answers questions and assist staff with daily operation problems or issues.
- Completes all consumer loan processing, following credit union policies and procedures for loan granting.
- Cross-sell other loan and deposit services.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
