We’re partnering with a well-established mechanical construction company that is looking to add a Senior Project Manager to its growing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical construction professional who enjoys both leading complex projects and building strong client relationships.
This is a true seller-doer role with responsibility for project execution, financial performance, client relationships, and business development across commercial, industrial, advanced technology, cleanroom, laboratory, manufacturing, data center, and tenant improvement projects.
-
Lead mechanical construction projects from preconstruction and estimating through installation, commissioning, and closeout
-
Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost-to-complete, billing, change orders, and overall profitability
-
Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, general contractors, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field operations
-
Develop and maintain client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat and negotiated work
-
Lead proposals, conceptual budgets, estimates, scope development, value engineering, and contract reviews
-
Oversee procurement, subcontractor buyout, long-lead equipment, logistics, and project scheduling
-
Partner closely with field leadership to resolve issues and keep projects aligned with scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality expectations
-
Coordinate mechanical systems including HVAC, hydronic piping, mechanical piping, controls/BAS, TAB, commissioning, and related systems
-
Identify opportunities for additional construction, service, retrofit, controls, and maintenance work within existing accounts
-
Mentor and provide guidance to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and junior project staff
-
8+ years of mechanical construction experience, ideally in project management, estimating, engineering, or field leadership
-
Strong experience managing mechanical/HVAC construction projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, change management, and client relationships
-
Strong understanding of HVAC, hydronic systems, mechanical piping, controls/BAS, equipment procurement, and construction sequencing
-
Experience with commercial HVAC, tenant improvements, retrofits, design-build, plan/spec, or occupied-facility projects
-
Experience in advanced technology, cleanroom, laboratory, manufacturing, semiconductor, data center, or industrial environments is a plus
-
Strong estimating, financial management, forecasting, contract administration, and change order experience
-
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and contracts
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Previous experience mentoring or leading junior project staff
-
A demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, develop client relationships, and generate repeat business
This is more than a traditional Project Manager position. The Senior Project Manager will have the opportunity to own projects, develop client relationships, mentor a team, and directly contribute to the growth of the business.
The ideal candidate is someone who is technically strong, financially savvy, client-focused, and enjoys being involved in both the project and the relationship side of the business.
If you’re an experienced mechanical construction PM looking for an opportunity where you can have significant ownership and build a long-term book of business, I’d love to connect.
