Adult Day Activities Coordinator / Personal Care Assistant
We are looking for an outgoing, optimistic, and compassionate individual to serve as our Activities Coordinator / Personal Care Assistant. This role is responsible for scheduling and coordinating engaging events, activities, and outings while also providing direct personal care support to clients. When not engaged in activities, the coordinator will assist with daily client care needs.
The ideal candidate will create and manage logistics for daily, weekly, and monthly events to promote socialization, recreation, and well-being. They will speak with participants for feedback, manage volunteers and resources, and deliver fun, safe events on time and within budget. Must be comfortable providing personal care as needed. PCA or CNA background is strongly preferred.
To succeed in this role you should be detail-oriented, creative, caring, and driven with excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Planning and facilitating daily, weekly, and monthly activities and outings (bowling, museums, parks, games, music, etc.) that accommodate standing, walker, and wheelchair participants.
- Handling all event logistics including calls, advertising, inventory, budgets, volunteer coordination, and transportation.
- Observing participants, gathering feedback, and encouraging engagement from everyone while persuading reluctant individuals.
- Keeping records of activities, participant interest, resources, injuries, and behavioral incidents.
- Reporting any medical concerns or changes in condition.
- Providing direct personal care assistance to clients (ADLs such as mobility support, grooming, toileting, meals, etc.) when not leading activities.
- Ensuring events are well-provisioned, staff/volunteers are prepared, and safety procedures are followed.
- Assisting the Executive Director with daily operations and serving as interim Executive Director when needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma and a fun-loving attitude.
- PCA or CNA background/experience is a plus.
- Job training, First Aid, and CPR certification.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Physical fitness to walk, stand, lift, dance, and assist with client care.
- Strong organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, compassion, and flexibility to work when needed.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
