Summary:
The Keyholder is an entry-level leadership role responsible for supporting daily store execution, customer service, and compliance while serving as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts. This role leads the sales floor, provides direction to teammates, and ensures the store operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. While the Keyholder does not formally document coaching conversations, this role plays an important part in reinforcing standards, driving accountability, and delivering a consistent BUD Experience aligned with the Strains of Success.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Floor & Guest Experience Execution
- Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering powerful guest service and reinforcing service standards with teammates
- Support and direct the retail team during shifts to ensure smooth execution of daily tasks and customer flow
- Drive consistent, welcoming, and knowledgeable interactions that support conversion, attachment, and loyalty
- Ensure each customer and teammate receives a high level of service aligned with Theory values
- Support merchandising standards to maintain a clean, organized, and engaging sales floor
Sales & Operational Support
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, leading the team and making real-time operational decisions
- Open and/or close the store, including key control, cash handling, daily financial and inventory reporting, and security procedures
- Lead and support all daily store tasks, ensuring procedures, policies, and standards are followed
- Operate and support all retail systems, including POS and inventory tools, to ensure accurate and compliant execution
- Drive adherence to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by reinforcing selling behaviors and operational expectations
Compliance & Inventory Support
- Support compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, including Office of Marijuana Policy requirements and company policies
- Ensure accurate daily recordkeeping and adherence to inventory and compliance procedures
- Identify inventory or process discrepancies during assigned shifts and resolve or escalate promptly Reinforce safety, compliance, and regulatory standards with teammates on the floor
Team Leadership & Support
- Provide direction, guidance, and real-time feedback to teammates to support consistent execution
- Help onboard and support new teammates by reinforcing training, expectations, and routines
- Model professionalism, accountability, and teamwork aligned with Theory Wellness values
- Support a positive, engaged team environment through strong presence and communication
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in a fast-paced, evolving retail and regulatory environment
Requirements
- Previous retail experience required; leadership or keyholder experience preferred
- Seasonal hire end date: January 2027 - Seasonal employees will be eligible to move into permanent position as they open
- Open availability to work a variable retail schedule 5 days per week (8HR Shifts), to include weekends (Fri-Sun), evenings, and holidays
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example and support teams during shifts.
- Ability to operate as Manager on Duty and handle opening and closing responsibilities
- Strong understanding of customer service and sales-floor execution
- Comfortable using POS systems and general retail technology
- Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and operate with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide direction to peers
- High energy, reliability, and a strong sense of accountability
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
- Must be at least 21 years of age and compliant with all state-mandated employment requirements
- Must have no drug-related felony convictions and be able to pass a comprehensive background check
