Position Overview
The Play Facilitator Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Play Facilitator team while maintaining all core responsibilities of a Play Facilitator. The Play Facilitator Lead serves as the point person for the team. This includes overseeing daily floor operations, addressing visitor needs, and making on-the-spot decisions, adjusting schedules as needed, and ensuring consistent service standards. In addition to engaging visitors through high-quality play experiences, this role provides administrative and leadership support behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all Play Facilitator duties, including creating an engaging, safe, and welcoming play environment.
- Provide support for events/birthday parties by providing animal showings and other duties specified by supervisor when necessary.
- Act as manager on duty in the absence of managers or supervisors, providing direction and support to staff.
- Assist with internship onboarding and coordinating.
- Respond to visitor concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Run morning all staff meeting in the absence of managers or supervisors.
- Adjust daily schedules and staff assignments to meet operational needs.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as managing the customer service email, [email protected], collecting and monitoring Café inventory and ordering, creating visitor data surveys and all other relevant administrative tasks.
- Assist in the creation of new VE programs/partnership.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and uphold service standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with leadership about floor operations, visitor feedback, and team performance.
Qualifications
- Preferred 2+ years of experience working in a lead or supervisory position.
- Is flexible and has the ability to problem solve when sudden issues arise.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Must be available to work select weekdays, weekends and flexible hours.
- Must be reliable, punctual and communicative.
- Must be experienced in promotional marketing (museum's goods and services).
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: 28 hours per week
- Required availability for Saturdays, Sundays, and select holidays.
- Flexibility for extended hours during peak seasons (school breaks, holidays, and special events).
- Pay: $20-22/hour, paid biweekly.
