Job Description:
- Teaching courses such as 9th Grade Regents Life Science (Biology), 10th Grade Regents Chemistry, and non-Regents Chemistry.
- Teaching the 9th and 10th Grade CIJE Engineering electives.
- Potentially teaching advanced courses and electives based on interest and expertise, including AP Biology, AP Physics, Forensics, Nutrition, and other STEM offerings.
- Designing and facilitating engaging, hands-on STEM electives for high school students.
- Leading the school's Robotics Club, supporting students in designing, building, coding, testing, and refining their projects.
- Contributing to interdisciplinary and project-based learning initiatives across the school.
- Mentoring students participating in innovation and entrepreneurship programs, including Shark Tank-style competitions, and supporting them in developing, refining, and presenting their ideas.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Warm, enthusiastic educator who enjoys working with teenagers and is committed to fostering student growth and success.
- Strong content knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
- Ability to create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience guiding students through laboratory investigations, projects, collaborative learning, and problem-solving activities.
- Interest in STEM education, engineering, robotics, coding, or related fields preferred.
- Openness to learning and implementing student-centered instructional practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, Education, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Education, Science Education, or a STEM-related field preferred, or enrollment in a master's program.
- 1–3 years of teaching experience is preferred.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
