We're a busy family looking for a skilled, self-directed private chef to take full ownership of our weekly meal planning and preparation. This is a backfill role — we have established routines and systems in place, so we're looking for someone who can slot in, learn the rhythm quickly, and run with it independently.
Each cooking day covers two days' worth of food. You'll plan the week's meals, handle all grocery shopping, prep and cook everything, and leave the kitchen spotless before you go.
What You'll Do
Meal Planning & Grocery Shopping
- Plan weekly menus aligned with family preferences and dietary needs
- Shop for all ingredients (reimbursed) ahead of or on cooking days
- Manage inventory and minimize waste
Cooking
- Prepare breakfasts (consistent, repeatable rotation)
- Cook lunches and dinners for the full family — fresh, nourishing, flavorful
- Prepare healthy snacks and lunchbox items for kids
- Each session covers 2 days of meals
Kitchen Ownership
- Full clean-up after every session: dishes, counters, stovetop, floors, trash/compost/recycling emptied
- Respect and maintain our existing organizational systems
What We're Looking For
- High ownership mindset — you don't need to be managed, you figure things out and follow through
- Strong time management — you plan your cook day, execute efficiently, and finish on time
- Clean, organized work ethic — tidy as you go, no shortcuts on cleanup
- Family food experience — comfortable cooking for kids, familiar with common preferences and allergens
- Reliability — this is a recurring role and consistency matters
Nice to Have
- Experience as a household or private chef
- Background in meal prep services or catering
- ServSafe or food handler certification

- Pay based on experience + grocery reimbursement
- Flexible scheduling within weekdays; M/W/F preferred
- Must have reliable transportation for grocery shopping
- Background check required
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
