SUMMARY
The Retail Associate works in the Astrid + Aziel Thrift Shop and delivers a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, achieving established goals, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment and communicating the Astrid + Aziel Thrift Ship goal, vision, and mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS
1. Provide excellent service, engage with customer and donor, while presenting a friendly and cooperative attitude
2. Perform accurate Point of Sale (POS) and cash handling procedures
3. Communicate the vision and mission to other employees, customers, and donors
4. Receive and accurately record donations using technology system and in accordance with company procedures.
5. Sort, clean, process, price donated goods and/or consult on pricing with supervisor/manager, following company procedures.
6. Merchandise and maintain the sales floor.
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment by following all personal protective equipment procedures.
8. Follow all safety rules and exercises caution in all work related activities.
9. Assist in loading and unloading trucks/vehicles and perform necessary cleaning and janitorial work in the store.
10. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and overtime when needed.
11. Provide donation letters to those requesting tax deductions.
12. Be able to stand for long periods of time.
13. Be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
14. Other tasks that are associated with store maintenance and receiving, sorting, cleaning inventorying, merchandising, and selling items in the store.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Ability to read, speak, and write basic English.
· Ability to operate cash register, personal computer, and other technology necessary to complete the activities assigned.
· Ability to share Astrid + Aziel Thrift Shop purpose, vision, and mission to customers, other employees, and donors.
· Ability to work with diverse team.
· Some retail and sales experience helpful.
· Punctual and dependable attendance.
· Adheres to policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
· Employee must submit to a live scan fingerprints process. Employee must receive clearance from Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Child Abuse Index per Community Care Licensing.
· Employee must sign a statement acknowledging the child and elder abuse and neglect reporting.
· Have a valid current California Driver License or California Identification card
· Employee must have the ability to use office machines, word processors, computers, etc. to prepare the necessary documentation, reports, etc.
· Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and follow through with assigned tasks and to present oneself in a mature and professional manner.
· Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
· Punctual and Dependable Attendance.
COMPENSATION AND HOURS:
The compensation and schedule for this position is established by individual agreement between Astrid + Aziel Thrift Shop and employee.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
