About This Opportunity
Parra's Distributors Inc. is offering an independent contractor route distribution opportunity for an established snack product territory across Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. This is a 1099 independent business relationship, not an employee position — you will operate your route as your own business, set your own schedule and methods, and your earnings are driven entirely by the volume and growth you generate.
This opportunity is best suited to an experienced, self-directed route operator — someone who already thinks like a business owner, not someone looking for a supervised job.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience operating a DSD or route distribution business (snack, beverage, bread, or similar CPG)
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and eligible to contract as an independent business (own EIN or business registration preferred)
- Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable motor vehicle record
- Comfortable and experienced servicing convenience stores/gas stations and independent Hispanic markets/tiendas
- Must provide own box truck (cargo capacity suitable for a full snack route) or, if unavailable, may lease a company vehicle — see Vehicle & Compensation below
- Own commercial auto and general liability insurance (or ability to obtain it) covering the vehicle and cargo
- Able to independently lift and load/unload product cases throughout the day
If you do not meet these minimum qualifications, please do not apply.
How the Contract Works
As an independent contractor, you:
- Set your own days, hours, and route order to service your assigned account territory within agreed service windows
- Determine your own method of operation — how you organize your day, manage your truck, and run your business is your call, provided accounts are properly serviced
- Bear the investment and risk of your own equipment and insurance, and your profit is a direct function of your own effort, efficiency, and account growth — the more you grow the territory, the more you earn
- May hire a helper or arrange a qualified substitute to service the route when needed
- Are free to contract with other companies for work that doesn't create a direct conflict with servicing this territory
- Are responsible for your own tax filings and estimated tax payments — no taxes are withheld; you'll receive a 1099 at year end
Scope of the Territory (Outcomes, Not Methods)
You'll be responsible for the business outcomes below — how you accomplish them is up to you:
- Existing accounts across convenience stores, gas stations, and Hispanic/international markets are stocked, rotated, and free of expired or damaged product
- New product introductions and account growth within your territory
- Additional shelf space, endcap, and display placement negotiated directly with store owners/managers
- Payment (cash/check) collected from store owners/managers at time of service
- Credit, return, and service issues resolved promptly to protect account relationships
- New account development to grow territory revenue
Vehicle & Compensation
- 12% commission on all sales, regardless of vehicle option — your commission rate doesn't change based on how you source your truck.
- Own Truck: If you provide your own box truck and insurance, you keep the full 12% commission with no additional deductions — the highest-earning path, reflecting your full investment in the business.
- Company Vehicle Lease Option: If you don't currently have a suitable box truck, you may lease one from Parra's Distributors for $300/week, deducted from your earnings. You remain responsible for your own insurance, fuel, and routine maintenance on the leased vehicle — same as you would if you owned it. Commission stays at 12%; the lease fee covers use of the vehicle itself, not its operating costs. Optional on-site parking for the leased truck is available at our warehouse between routes, at no additional cost, if you'd prefer not to keep it elsewhere.
- No minimum weekly draw or guaranteed pay — this is a true commission structure; your earnings reflect your own results.
- $100 bonus for each new account opened, in addition to commission, regardless of vehicle option.
