Pylon Docktors is hiring multiple Construction Laborers for dock and pylon restoration work in the Smith Mountain Lake / Bedford, VA area.
We are looking for reliable, hard-working laborers who are comfortable working outdoors, around water, and on construction-style job sites. This position involves assisting with dock and pylon restoration, surface preparation, descaling, painting/coating work, power tool use, and general job-site labor.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with dock and pylon restoration work
- Use hand tools and power tools safely
- Help with surface prep, grinding, descaling, painting, and coating work
- Carry materials, tools, and equipment on job sites
- Work outdoors around docks, water, and changing weather conditions
- Follow directions from the foreman
- Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe
- Work full outdoor shifts when needed
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to swim
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Must be able to work up to 8-hour days
- Must be comfortable working outdoors and around water
- Must have prior construction experience, painting experience, or experience using power tools
- Must be dependable, on time, and willing to work hard
- Must be able to lift and carry materials and perform physical labor
- Must be able to follow safety instructions and work as part of a crew
Preferred Experience:
- Construction labor
- Painting or coating work
- Marine, dock, or waterfront work
- Grinding, sanding, descaling, drilling, or power tool experience
