Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned jobs from start to finish
- Review prints, determine manufacturing methods, and develop machining strategies
- Coordinate work between edm, lathe / mill, welding, outside processing, and inspection as required to complete projects
- Ensure material and components has been ordered
- Set up and Operate CNC Machines and manual machines as needed - Hurcos
- Develop programs for machining operations at the Hurcos
- Perform machine setup and tooling selection
- Know and understand G and M codes for debugging of programs to ensure optimal performance
- Understanding of Speeds and Feeds for varies materials including Aluminum, Brass, Copper, Tool Steel, General Steel, Tool Steel, and Stainless Steel
- Understanding of Speeds and Feeds for various cutters including Inserted Cutters, High Speed Steel, Carbide, Coated Cutters, etc
- Knowledge of manual milling machines, lathes and surface grinders
- Understanding of shop mathematics
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Capability of running multiple machines at once
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC milling machines
- Proficiency in using hand tools, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques for loading and unloading workpieces
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
- Must have your own tools
Skills:
- Strong technical skills in operating CNC milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications accurately
- Proficient in using hand tools, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques for loading and unloading workpieces
