Micro Welder / Bridge Wire Welder — Precision Welding, Big Impact
Starting pay: $22.00 - $24.00 p/hr *Candidates with prior Bridge Wire/Micro Welding experience may be considered for rates up to $24/hr (1st shift) or $26/hr (2nd shift).
Ever wonder who welds the components too small to see with the naked eye? That's you. We're looking for a skilled Micro Welder who thrives on precision, works confidently under a microscope, and takes pride in getting the smallest details exactly right — because in this role, "small" doesn't mean "unimportant." These components end up in devices that support our defense systems — including hardware that helps keep the war fighter mission-ready. Every weld you make carries real weight.
*THOSE BEING CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AN ASSESSMENT TEST.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform micro resistance welding on small components, including metals such as stainless steel, nickel, and copper.
- Set up and operate micro-welding equipment, including resistance spot and seam welding machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in welding processes.
- Inspect welded parts to ensure quality and adherence to specifications using magnification tools, microscopes, or precision measuring instruments.
- Adjust welding parameters such as current, pressure, and time to optimize weld quality.
- Maintain and calibrate welding equipment to ensure consistent performance.
- Work under a microscope or magnification when needed for intricate welding tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of welding parameters, inspections, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve welding defects.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or vocational training in welding is a plus).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in micro resistance welding or precision welding.
- Experience working in industries such as electronics, medical devices, aerospace, or precision manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of resistance spot welding (RSW), seam welding, and projection welding techniques.
- Familiarity with welding standards and quality control procedures (e.g., AWS, ISO, or MIL-SPEC standards).
Skills:
- Precision and attention to detail – ability to work with small components under a microscope.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and steady hands for handling delicate welding operations.
- Proficiency in using micro-welding equipment, resistance welders, and measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, magnifiers, etc.).
- Problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot welding defects.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong adherence to safety protocols and quality control standards.
