SUMMARY: A Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting a team of mechanics by performing basic maintenance tasks on industrial machinery, including cleaning, inspecting parts, assisting with repairs, maintaining inventory of replacement parts, and documenting maintenance activities, all while adhering to safety protocols and following instructions from senior technicians; essentially acting as a helper to ensure the smooth operation of mechanical systems within a facility
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Basic Maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance tasks such as lubricating machinery, checking fluid levels, cleaning and inspecting components, and replacing worn parts as needed.
· Assisting with Repairs:
Helping mechanics disassemble and reassemble machinery, holding parts, cleaning up spills, and providing tools as needed during repair processes.
· Preventative Maintenance:
Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks like greasing bearings, checking belts, and performing basic inspections as per maintenance checklists.
· Inventory Management:
Maintaining accurate records of spare parts and supplies, notifying supervisors when inventory is low, and assisting with ordering new parts.
· Data Recording:
Completing detailed work orders, documenting repairs performed, and logging maintenance activities on equipment.
· Cleaning and Organization:
Keeping the maintenance work area clean and organized, including tools and equipment.
· Safety Compliance:
Following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
· Other duties as assigned
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical principles and how machinery operates.
- Hand Tool Proficiency: Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and sockets effectively.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Ability to identify simple mechanical issues and report them to senior technicians.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain accurate records.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
