A Brief Overview
The Real Estate Development Partner – Texas will serve as the company's market leader throughout the State of Texas, with a primary focus on sourcing new development opportunities, cultivating strategic relationships, assisting with capital formation efforts, and providing oversight throughout the development process. This position will be responsible for identifying and originating multifamily and mixed-use development opportunities, expanding the company's presence within Texas markets, and serving as a strategic partner in the execution of the company's development platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep market relationships, strong business development capabilities, and significant experience navigating the real estate development landscape throughout Texas.
What you will do
- Deal Sourcing & Business Development
- Identifies, sources, and originates new multifamily, mixed-use, and strategic development opportunities throughout Texas.
- Develops and maintains relationships with brokers, landowners, municipalities, consultants, developers, lenders, and institutional partners.
- Maintains a strong pipeline of off-market and marketed development opportunities.
- Evaluates market trends, demographic data, and competitive positioning across key Texas markets.
- Represents the company at industry conferences, networking events, and business development meetings.
- Market Leadership
- Serves as the company’s primary market representative throughout Texas.
- Assists in establishing and executing the company’s regional growth strategy.
- Builds strategic partnerships and enhances the company’s reputation within the development community.
- Coordinates with internal leadership on market positioning, pipeline management, and strategic initiatives.
- Provides local market intelligence and insight regarding economic trends, municipal issues, and competitive developments.
- Capital Raising Assistance
- Assists leadership with debt and equity capitalization efforts for development opportunities.
- Supports preparation of investment presentations, underwriting materials, and project summaries for capital partners.
- Participates in meetings with lenders, equity providers, family offices, institutional investors, and strategic partners.
- Helps facilitate relationships with capital sources active within Texas markets.
- Development Oversight
- Provides strategic oversight and support throughout the development lifecycle, including:
- o Site evaluation
- o Due diligence
- o Entitlements
- o Design coordination
- o Construction monitoring
- o Lease-up strategy
- Coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and legal teams as needed.
- Assists in monitoring project budgets, schedules, and overall execution objectives.
- Identifies and helps mitigate development and execution risks.
- This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in real estate, finance, or a related field. Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 10+ years of real estate development, acquisitions, or related industry experience. Required
- Strong existing relationships throughout Texas real estate markets. Required
- Demonstrated ability to source and originate development opportunities. Required
- Experience working with multifamily, mixed-use, workforce housing, or institutional development projects. Required
- Familiarity with debt and equity capitalization structures. Required
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to operate independently while coordinating with executive leadership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong strategic and business development capabilities.
