American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring ACLS certification and telemetry nursing experience.

Acute Telemetry unit setting
-
Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med surg overflow
-
Manages cardiac drips including titration, though does not initiate nitrates
-
Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1, occasionally 6:1
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Required to float when needed
-
Active RN license (LA state or compact)
-
BLS certification from AHA required
-
ACLS certification from AHA required
-
BSN preferred
-
1 year of experience in telemetry nursing preferred
-
Provide nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
-
Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
-
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
-
Assess patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education
-
Ceil blue scrubs required

Newly hired experienced RNs attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire

Completion of annual competency verification required

Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration

Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees (non-travel) must be separated for 6 months prior to being eligible for a travel assignment
