Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver and take your driving career to new heights! Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, adhering strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Transport refrigerated freight, hazardous materials, and other cargo types such as flatbed or tanker loads over long distances.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes, ensuring timely deliveries while optimizing fuel consumption.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary, maintaining safety protocols at all times.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat), flatbed, tanker, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and freight handling.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and navigation.
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely during loading/unloading processes; forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous goods transportation standards.
- Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; strong driving skills essential.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers and customers on delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently on long-distance OTR routes while maintaining high safety standards.
