Product Researcher (Dairy & Feed Expert)

Role Summary
We are seeking a Product Researcher with deep expertise in the dairy industry, specifically focusing on feed management and farm nutrition operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between a nutritionist’s formulated ration and the one the cows actually receive. You will leverage your dairy feed expertise to help us design and build our next-generation products, ideate and validate product hypotheses, and eventually drive the market distribution of our solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Hypothesis Validation: Translate your deep knowledge of dairy feed operations into actionable product features. Formulate, test, and validate product hypotheses to ensure our software addresses the most critical pain points of modern dairy farms. Work alongside our Head of Product.
- User Research & Discovery: Conduct extensive research by splitting your time between remote work and hands-on field study. You will spend 30% to 40% of your time traveling and visiting dairy farms in person, and the rest conducting remote video calls with clients.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the core domain expert for our engineering and product teams, ensuring that the software we build is intuitive and deeply valuable for feed managers, farm owners and eventually feeders.
- Go-To-Market & Distribution Support: Sell the first versions of the product along with a founder of the company and our Head of Product. Make sure the product is ready for commercial launch. Assist our Sales and Customer Success teams in planning and executing the market distribution strategy for the new solutions, leveraging your industry network and credibility to drive adoption.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Deep Dairy Nutrition Expertise: Comprehensive, hands-on understanding of modern dairy farm feed centers, ration logs, TMR (Total Mixed Ration) tracking software (like ezFeed), and feed management workflows.
- Strong Dairy Industry Background: Solid experience working within or consulting for the dairy industry, with an intimate knowledge of how farm economics, nutrition, and daily operations intersect (minimum of 2 years of related experience).
- Sales Expertise: Experience closing deals in the dairy industry.
- Product Mindset: While a classic product management background is not strictly required, you must possess strong analytical skills, a curiosity for solving complex problems, and the ability to think in terms of user experience and scalable solutions.
- Communication & Remote Setup: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. You must be comfortable leading remote video discovery calls and possess a proven ability to work remotely with a high degree of autonomy.
- Willingness to travel for on-site farm visits (30-40% travel)
Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
