Location: mostly remote with some local travel
We are seeking a Distribution Design Engineer to support electric utility distribution engineering projects. This role involves developing design packages, performing engineering analysis, conducting field assessments, and coordinating utility infrastructure projects in both office and field environments.
Responsibilities:

Develop work packages for electric distribution engineering design projects.

Utilize utility systems and applications including ArcFM, EFD, EAM, STORMS, GIS, Jira, and Alden One.

Perform field investigations and office-based engineering design activities.

Conduct structural analysis, guying calculations, and electric load/demand calculations.

Coordinate with utilities, municipalities, and project stakeholders to resolve design conflicts.

Prepare design bid packages for complex utility projects, including urban infrastructure environments.

Support permitting, easement, and right-of-way (ROW) application processes.

Design medium-voltage switchgear, underground vault systems, network distribution systems, and protection/coordination solutions.
Requirements:

2+ years of experience performing electric utility distribution design engineering for a utility company or utility consulting firm.

Experience with distribution engineering design and joint use engineering for utility pole communication attachments.

Knowledge of utility distribution systems, engineering calculations, and utility design standards.

Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments.

Valid, reliable transportation for local project-related travel.
