Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation (TAES) provides energy industry solutions, including new equipment, retrofits, maintenance, outage planning, and more, for current and future power generation needs throughout the Americas, including thermal, hydro, and nuclear power plants.
We are seeking a Project Manager to work out of our West Allis, WI office (hybrid option available). The Project Manager supports the planning and execution of maintenance, overhaul, repair, upgrade, and outage projects for steam turbines, generators, and related power generation equipment.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career project management professional to develop technical, commercial, and customer-facing skills within the power generation industry.
Essential Duties
- Support planning and execution of steam turbine and generator repair projects by coordinating activities across engineering, operations, field service, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist in development of project proposals, execution plans, schedules, resource requirements, and project documentation.
- Support customer communications by providing project updates, coordinating deliverables, and assisting with issue resolution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and scope changes while escalating issues as necessary.
- Support project financial reporting, forecasting, invoicing, and contract administration activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting onsite outage activities as needed
Education and Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in project management, engineering, field service, construction management, manufacturing, or power generation services.
- Experience coordinating projects, maintenance activities, outages, or customer support efforts preferred.
- Project Management & Coordination – Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute multiple projects while managing priorities, resources, and deliverables.
- Communication & Stakeholder Management – Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, direct technical personnel, and effectively interact with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Financial & Commercial Acumen – Experience with budget tracking, cost control, financial reporting, contract awareness, and management of scope and change control processes.
- Technical Knowledge & Problem Solving – Ability to understand technical documents, drawings, procedures, work scopes, and reports while identifying and resolving project risks and execution challenges.
- Systems & Software Proficiency – Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with project management tools, document control processes, and Product Data Management (PDM) systems preferred.
- Safety & Operational Awareness – Understanding of industrial and power generation environments, including applicable safety practices and effective collaboration across engineering, field service, and operations teams.
Certifications and Licenses
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to customer sites.
Travel
- Occasional travel to Power Plants
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment with standard business hours and minimal physical hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to industrial environments including power plants, manufacturing facilities, and customer worksites. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, elevated work areas, varying weather conditions, and loud noise levels. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required when visiting customer sites or project locations.
