Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while adhering to safety protocols.
- Transport automobile transportation and other specialized cargo with precision, maintaining vehicle integrity and cargo security throughout transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, load security, and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, including bills of lading, delivery logs, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery status, or safety concerns during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the role such as Hazmat or Tanker certification preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving across diverse terrains.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operations, flatbed handling, tanker trucks, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is essential.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and FMCSA safety standards governing truck loading/unloading and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) routes highly desirable.
- Physical ability to manually handle freight loads safely and efficiently; comfort working in various weather conditions is essential.
