Join our dynamic team as a Golf Course Assistant Superintendent and play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty, playability, and sustainability of our premier golf course. You will work closely with the superintendent to ensure the course meets the highest standards of quality while fostering a positive environment for both staff and golfers. Your expertise in horticulture, lawn care, irrigation, and construction will be essential in delivering an exceptional golfing experience every day.
Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily landscape maintenance operations, including turf management, planting, fertilization, and pest control to ensure optimal course conditions.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, providing guidance on landscaping techniques, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
- Coordinate irrigation systems installation, repair, and scheduling to maintain healthy turf and landscape beds.
- Lead projects related to construction, tree care, drainage improvements, and other course enhancements with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of greens, fairways, roughs, and surrounding landscapes to identify issues and implement timely solutions.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules to ensure all tools and machinery operate efficiently and safely.
- Collaborate with the superintendent on budgeting, planning, and implementing sustainable landscaping practices that promote environmental stewardship.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or landscaping within a golf course or similar outdoor environment.
- Supervising experience leading teams of maintenance or groundskeeping personnel.
- Strong knowledge of lawn care techniques including fertilization, aeration, overseeding, and pest management.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and scheduling.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects such as bunker renovation or drainage improvements.
- Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning and health assessments.
