Peer Support Specialist (PSS)
Peer Support Specialists use their lived experience, training, and certification to support individuals in achieving their recovery goals. Services are provided in the home or community and are designed to reduce isolation, increase empowerment, and strengthen engagement in treatment. Service intensity and frequency vary based on individual needs.
All PSS staff complete required training and maintain certification, including education in ethics, boundaries, and peer support techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a written recovery plan with each peer
- Conduct 90‑day reviews to assess progress and update goals
- Document all billable services accurately and in compliance with Medicaid standards
- Provide services in alignment with the Peer Support Code of Ethics
- Respond to peer needs and requests for assistance within the same day
- Attend scheduled appointments or communicate promptly in urgent situations
- Participate in weekly supervision and provide case‑specific updates
- Complete at least 10 hours of continuing education annually as required by BPA
Compensation: Peer Support Specialists are paid on a billable‑hour basis. Starting at $18.00 per hour
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
