Shipping and Receiving Manager
We are seeking an organized and dependable Shipping and Receiving Manager to oversee the daily movement of products through our warehouse. This position will coordinate shipping, receiving, order staging, deliveries, warehouse organization, and the daily activities of warehouse employees and drivers.
The Shipping and Receiving Manager will work closely with the Store Manager, purchasing, sales, and delivery personnel to ensure products are received accurately and customer orders are completed correctly and on time.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments to purchasing and the Store Manager.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, staged, and shipped accurately.
- Coordinate customer pickups, branch transfers, freight shipments, and local deliveries.
- Assign daily tasks to warehouse employees and delivery drivers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
- Ensure inventory is properly labeled and stored in the correct locations.
- Assist with cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee damaged merchandise and vendor returns.
- Train employees on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety requirements.
- Monitor employee productivity and report performance or attendance concerns to the Store Manager.
- Communicate order delays, delivery problems, and inventory issues to sales and management.
- Recommend improvements to warehouse efficiency and customer service.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or industrial distribution experience.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using an ERP or inventory management system.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle warehouse products.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
