Position Overview
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from construction projects, company facilities, and vendor locations. This position plays a critical role in supporting field operations by ensuring materials and equipment are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and committed to maintaining a professional image while representing the company.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL vehicles, including dump trucks, water trucks, lowboys, tractor-trailers, and other commercial vehicles as assigned.
- Transport construction materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites, company facilities, and vendor locations.
- Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and other required documentation.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and securing materials and equipment.
- Coordinate deliveries and pickups with project teams, dispatch personnel, and supervisors.
- Maintain vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Operate vehicles safely in construction zones, traffic, and varying weather conditions.
- Assist with general labor duties when driving responsibilities are complete or limited.
- Support snow removal operations, emergency response activities, and other company needs as required.
- Attend required meetings, safety training, and company-sponsored programs.
Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, DOT regulations, and traffic laws.
- Conduct required vehicle inspections and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working on construction sites.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured prior to transport.
- Maintain awareness of job site hazards, overhead obstructions, underground utilities, and surrounding traffic.
- Participate in Pre-Task Planning meetings, Stretch and Bend activities, and Toolbox Safety meetings.

Education and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- Current DOT Medical Card required.
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating construction-related vehicles and equipment preferred.
- Clean driving record required.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspection requirements, and safe driving practices.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment in varying road and jobsite conditions.
- Knowledge of load securement requirements and material transportation procedures.
- Ability to read maps, delivery instructions, permits, and route information.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and project needs.

- Occasionally climb ladders and access elevated equipment or trailers.
Work Environment
Work is performed both on public roadways and active construction sites. Employees are regularly exposed to varying weather conditions, traffic, dust, noise, vibration, and moving equipment. This position may require extended work hours, night work, weekends, travel, and participation in snow removal operations based on operational needs.
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
