We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations and ensure seamless delivery services. - Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday
- Shift: 12pm to 8:30pm
- Schedule: Friday to Monday
- Shift: 9am to 7pm
Duties
- Coordinate and assign freight loads to drivers using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and Fleet Management tools.
- Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate with drivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear instructions, updates, and support during road transportation operations.
- Manage phone call traffic efficiently, providing excellent customer service while handling inquiries related to freight, schedules, or delays with professionalism and courtesy.
- Enter accurate data into logistics databases like SyteLine and internal systems to maintain up-to-date records of dispatch activities, vehicle status, and delivery progress.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to plan transportation routes that maximize efficiency while adhering to safety standards and DOT regulations.
- Maintain organized documentation of dispatch logs, incident reports, and compliance records to support internal audits and operational analysis.Skills
- Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation planning tools for effective route optimization.
- Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, logistics management, and freight handling procedures.
- Experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette for managing multi-line phone systems confidently.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Data entry expertise using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for accurate record keeping and reporting.
- Familiarity with vehicle dispatch software like Fleet Management systems or Vehicle Dispatch platforms.
- Understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to ensure compliance during all dispatch activities.
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating routing options, delivery schedules, and operational efficiencies.
