SMC Landcare is a commercial landscape company serving HOA, commercial, and institutional properties across North Texas. We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to support our irrigation systems through high-quality repairs, installations, and system improvements across all properties and projects.
This role is ideal for a hands-on irrigation professional who enjoys troubleshooting, fixing problems correctly, and improving system performance.
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for performing irrigation system repairs, installations, and upgrades to ensure reliable operation, water efficiency, and alignment with SMC Landcare’s agronomic and water management standards.
This role focuses on execution and problem-solving in the field. Irrigation issues are identified through inspections and Weathermatic SmartLink™ monitoring by the Irrigation Inspector and Agronomy leadership. The Irrigation Technician executes the physical repairs, improvements, and system changes required.

Irrigation Repairs & Installation

Perform repairs to irrigation systems including heads, valves, piping, wiring, and controllers

Install new irrigation components and system upgrades as required

Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical irrigation issues

Ensure repairs and installations meet SMC Landcare quality standards
Weathermatic & SmartLink™ Execution

Execute physical repairs and system changes identified through Weathermatic SmartLink™ monitoring

Support controller adjustments and programming changes as directed by Agronomy leadership
-
Verify proper system operation following SmartLink-identified corrections

Assist with implementation of water management strategies supported by SmartLink data
System Performance & Optimization

Adjust irrigation components to improve coverage, efficiency, and reliability

Support seasonal system adjustments and performance improvements

Confirm full system functionality after repairs or upgrades
Documentation & Reporting

Document completed work, photos, and notes in Aspire
-
Confirm resolution of issues identified by the Irrigation Inspector

Communicate completed repairs and outstanding needs to Agronomy leadership

Maintain accurate records for operational tracking and follow-up
Equipment, Materials & Safety

Properly use and maintain tools, vehicles, and irrigation equipment

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements

Ensure work areas are left clean, safe, and operational

Identify and report equipment or material needs
Coordination & Support

Coordinate with Field Operations teams to minimize disruption to scheduled maintenance

Support Agronomy initiatives related to water efficiency and landscape performance

Provide technical input to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement

Irrigation inspections or system audits

Client relationship ownership or direct client communication

Scheduling, routing, or staffing decisions

Pricing, estimating, or proposal development
Required

Experience performing commercial irrigation repairs and installations

Strong understanding of irrigation system components and diagnostics

Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic issues

Ability to work independently across multiple sites and projects

Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
Preferred

Irrigation-related certifications

Experience with Weathermatic controllers and SmartLink™ monitoring

Experience using Aspire or similar job management systems

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
