Tax Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for high net worth individuals and families. The role will manage complex personal and estate tax matters, oversee preparation and review of returns, coordinate with client service teams, and drive proactive tax strategies for HNWI clients. The ideal candidate holds a CPA, has prior experience as a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager, and is skilled in taxation, estate planning, and working with High Net Worth clients.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance and planning for HNWI clients, including complex personal income tax and estate tax matters.

Oversee preparation and reviewing of individual, fiduciary, gift, and estate tax returns to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing.

Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for wealth transfer, estate planning, and liquidity management in coordination with estate planning attorneys and financial advisors.

Provide senior-level tax advice to high net worth individuals, families, trustees, and executors, translating complex tax rules into practical recommendations.

Supervise, mentor, and review the work of tax associates and managers; manage workflow, delegate assignments, and ensure quality control.

Coordinate tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and tax provision work to support client reporting and decision-making.

Represent clients before tax authorities during audits and examinations; prepare responses and negotiate outcomes when necessary.

Stay current on tax law changes, regulatory developments, and emerging planning opportunities relevant to HNWI and estate matters; communicate impacts to clients and internal teams.

Support business development and client relationship efforts by preparing proposals, participating in client meetings, and contributing to thought leadership on taxation for High Net Worth clients.
Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

10+ years of progressive tax experience with a focus on personal, fiduciary, and estate taxation; prior experience as a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing individual, gift, trust, and estate tax returns for HNWI / High Net Worth clients.

Deep technical knowledge of federal and state taxation, estate and gift tax rules, basis step-up, portability, and wealth transfer strategies.

Strong client advisory skills and experience working directly with high net worth individuals, family offices, trustees, and executors.

Proven leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals.

High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency with tax research tools and return preparation software.
