Senior Operations Manager — Residential Home Improvement
A well-established residential home improvement company in the Peoria, IL area is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations.
Applicants must have direct experience in residential home improvement, remodeling, construction operations, or a closely related field.
This is a high-level leadership role for someone with strong experience in residential remodeling, exterior home improvement, construction production, sales oversight, subcontractor management, permitting, scheduling, and customer satisfaction.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing sold projects from contract through completion and final collection. This includes reviewing sold jobs, ordering materials, requesting permits, scheduling and managing subcontractors, overseeing job progress, resolving customer issues, supporting sales accountability, training new sales staff, and managing company personnel.
This position will work with an existing sales manager, marketing/scheduling manager, and administrative assistant, but will be responsible for overall operational execution and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of a residential home improvement company
- Oversee jobs from sale through completion and final collection
- Review sold contracts, scopes of work, measurements, and job details
- Ensure materials are ordered accurately and on time
- Request and manage permits
- Schedule and manage subcontractors/installers
- Oversee production timelines, quality control, and customer satisfaction
- Support and oversee sales team accountability
- Conduct initial sales training for new sales representatives
- Recruit, hire, train, manage, discipline, and terminate personnel as needed
- Resolve customer, production, subcontractor, and staffing issues
- Work with administrative and scheduling staff to ensure smooth workflow
- Protect company profitability, reputation, and customer experience
- Help improve systems, processes, communication, and overall company performance
Qualifications
- Direct experience in residential home improvement, remodeling, construction operations, or a closely related field
- Prior operations, production, branch, or general management experience
- Experience managing subcontractors, installers, salespeople, and office staff
- Ability to train and lead sales personnel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs, people, and priorities
- Experience with permitting, material ordering, scheduling, job costing, and collections
- Strong leadership and accountability mindset
- Ability to solve problems quickly and professionally
- Must be able to work in the Peoria, IL area
Compensation
This position offers a performance-based compensation plan with substantial earning potential.
Compensation is tied to company production, operational execution, completed projects, and overall performance. Full compensation details will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

- Flexibility required depending on sales, production, customer, and subcontractor needs
Work Location

- Local travel to job sites, customer homes, suppliers, permitting offices, and subcontractor locations may be required
