We're looking for a seasoned Construction Estimator to join a growing commercial general contractor in NC, FL and TX. This is a chance to lead precon efforts on projects up to $15M across healthcare, financial, and light industrial sectors, working closely with trade partners, architects, and clients from the earliest stages of a project through award.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Prepare cost estimates and forecasts by reviewing drawings and specs, gathering data, and attending site visits ahead of submission deadlines
- Build out full CSI division cost breakdowns along with written assumptions and clarifications
- Factor in materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation when putting together estimates
- Determine project resource needs based on cost estimates and budget constraints
- Analyze project timelines and durations
- Develop and publish complete bid packages for trade partners and vendors, including scopes of work, alternates, and allowances
- Qualify and level trade partner and vendor bids for full scope coverage
- Review costs internally and with clients to help close out successful project awards
- Lead estimating on design bid build projects, including hard bids and GC plus fee work
- Mentor interns, coordinators, and assistant estimators
- Get involved with industry organizations like Associated Builders and Contractors
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years in commercial construction
- Track record estimating projects up to $15M, ideally in healthcare, financial, or light industrial
- Comfortable managing 2+ projects at once in a fast paced environment
- Strong problem solving, communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in estimation software, MS Office, and blueprint reading
- Solid grasp of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites and pre bid visits
