Dining Facility Manager – Fort Dix DFAC
Food Services Inc. of Gainesville (FSIG) is seeking a dependable and experienced Dining Facility Manager to oversee daily food service operations at the Fort Dix Dining Facility. This position is ideal for a leader who understands food service operations, employee supervision, sanitation standards, customer service, and the importance of meeting contract requirements in a military dining environment.
The Dining Facility Manager will be responsible for ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and professionally while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, accountability, and customer satisfaction.
Pay and Benefits
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day dining facility operations, including meal service, sanitation, staffing, food production support, and customer service.
Supervise food service employees and ensure staff are properly assigned, trained, and held accountable for performance, appearance, attendance, and professionalism.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and military dining expectations.
Monitor food quality, portion control, serving line appearance, meal presentation, and overall customer satisfaction.
Maintain strong communication with employees, government representatives, vendors, and FSIG leadership.
Ensure proper completion of required records, reports, production logs, cleaning schedules, attendance records, and other administrative documents.
Conduct routine inspections of dining areas, kitchen spaces, serving lines, storage areas, restrooms, and employee work areas to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
Address employee issues, customer concerns, and operational problems in a timely and professional manner.
Support inventory control, supply accountability, food protection, and proper storage procedures.
Lead by example and create a work environment focused on teamwork, respect, attention to detail, and mission success.
Qualifications
Previous food service management or supervisory experience required.
Military dining facility, government contract, cafeteria, institutional food service, or large-volume food service experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to supervise employees, manage schedules, enforce standards, and maintain accountability.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, cleaning procedures, and food service operations.
Ability to complete reports, maintain records, and communicate clearly with leadership and customer representatives.
Must be reliable, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced dining facility environment.
ServSafe certification preferred, or ability to obtain certification if required.
Must be able to pass any required background check or base access requirements.
Work Environment
This position is located at the Fort Dix Dining Facility and requires hands-on leadership in a military food service setting. The Dining Facility Manager must be visible, engaged, and willing to support the team wherever needed to ensure successful daily operations.
