Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. Duties
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and walk-in seating requests with precision
- Coordinate table assignments to optimize seating flow and minimize wait times
- Answer phone inquiries with courteous phone etiquette, assisting with reservations and general questions
- Precision Packing: Assemble, double-check, and bag high-volume takeout, curbside, and third-party delivery (UberEats, DoorDash, etc.) orders with 100% accuracy.
- Quality Control: Ensure all modifications, dietary restrictions, sauces, utensils, and side items are perfectly matched to the ticket before sealing the bag.
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Support food service staff by managing guest flow and ensuring timely seating
- Uphold food safety standards and cleanliness in all guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone communication and etiquette
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and table counts accurately
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and hospitality best practices
- Previous hotel or food service experience is a plus for understanding guest relations in diverse settings
