EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This position centers on skilled equipment operation and hands-on field work that supports highway and bridge maintenance across the Commonwealth. The role is active and essential to keeping the state transportation system safe and dependable. As a PennDOT CDL Operator A, you will perform the following duties:

Equipment Operation: Operate trucks, loaders, and other assigned equipment to support roadway and bridge maintenance

CDL Compliance: Maintain a valid CDL without air brake restrictions and complete required equipment certifications

Traffic Control: Carry out flagging duties to support safe traffic flow when not operating equipment

Manual Labor Tasks: Use hand tools and motorized tools to complete tasks such as clearing brush, repairing barriers, and cleaning culverts

Equipment Care: Perform minor repairs, field adjustments, and daily checks to keep equipment safe and functional

Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and help maintain a secure work environment for all
Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Hours may vary and overtime may be required during weather events.
