Overview:
Are you an experienced Marine Electronics Engineer that enjoys working with ships?? If so, our team in Washington, DC is looking for a Marine Electronics Engineer with 8 years of C5I integration experience. This hybrid position supports the United States Coast Guard and our Ship Design Group!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct design of electric and electronic systems, study power generation and distribution, centralized machinery monitoring and control.

Applying knowledge of and experience with engineering principles and techniques, to develop and evaluate moderately complex technical reports related to application of C5I systems onboard USCG ships.

Reviewing and evaluating the effect of new and/or modified electronics on overall system performance.

Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS’s), Request for Waiver (RFW), Engineering Changes (EC’s).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 8 - 10 years of related work experience (Degree in Engineering is preferred)

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

Must be a US Citizen for the purposes of obtaining a security clearance

Minimum of 8 years documented experience developing and integrating systems
involving electromagnetic energy transmission for purposes including sensor
processing, remote sensing, communications, guidance and control, information
processing, navigation and defense applications. -
Meets Required DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification Requirements.

Previous experience with shipboard and defense C5I systems preferred

Knowledge of USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,800.00/Yr. - USD $140,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
