Industrial Electrician Job Summary $27 - $30/hr
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial and manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate has experience working with electrical controls, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial machinery while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues involving motors, control panels, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and automated production equipment.
- Install and terminate conduit, cable trays, wire, and electrical devices.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults using multimeters, meggers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Install, wire, and test motors, transformers, disconnects, switchgear, and control panels.
- Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, and commissioning of new machinery.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local electrical codes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues with supervisors and maintenance teams.
- Work safely around energized equipment while following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Collaborate with mechanical maintenance personnel and production teams to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial electrical experience preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and industrial blueprints.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) preferred.
- Experience working with VFDs, motor controls, MCCs, relays, contactors, transformers, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V control circuits to 480V three-phase power.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors, and automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work overtime, weekends, or shutdown schedules as needed.
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NFPA 70E Training
- State Electrical License (if required)
- Lift certifications (Scissor Lift, Boom Lift, Forklift) preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Work in industrial environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust or chemicals.
- Wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
