Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Private Kindergarten (5K) Teacher to inspire young learners and foster their early childhood development. This role involves creating a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering engaging lessons aligned with educational standards, supporting diverse learning styles, and monitoring student progress. You will play a vital role in shaping the foundational skills of our students while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere. This is a 7am to 3pm shift.
Responsibilities:
- Interact and supervise children; the ability to meet each child’s individual needs in a group setting
- Evaluate individual developmental progress of each child
- Ability to connect with co-workers, parents and children in a positive and respectful manner
- Maintain professional personal appearance, professional attitude and work conduct
- Adhere to The PREP School’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to teach rigorous curriculums to prepare students to move forward to public Kindergarten & First Grade; focus on closing gaps- academically and developmentally; expand learning opportunities in Enrichment Classrooms
- Comfortable conducting parent/teacher conferences
- Follow and implement classroom daily schedules and learning plans
- Ability to maintain a warm and nurturing environment; promote a positive learning experience that inspires students to love and embrace learning; sets clear expectations for students
- Excellent organizational skills and time management
Requirements:
- Understands all rules and regulations of local and state agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
- Teaching certification and direct experience in the classroom is preferred
- Year-round; hourly position (ZONE Camp Teacher during summer months)
Physical Requirements:
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting at least 35 pounds
Upon Employment
- Valid driver’s license
- Obtain Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid with Rescue Breathing and Choking
- Obtain a Background Check and Fingerprint-based Background Check
- Food Handlers Certification
