MJ Direct is a locally owned cannabis retailer proudly serving California's Central Coast. We're looking for dependable, customer-focused drivers to help us provide safe, professional, and convenient cannabis delivery to our communities.

About the Position
This role is more similar to DoorDash or Uber Eats than a traditional delivery driver position.
Drivers use their own personal vehicle to complete deliveries after being dispatched by our team. Rather than being assigned a fixed daily route, delivery opportunities are created as customer orders come in.
Once delivery routes are ready, available shifts will be posted for qualified drivers to claim based on their availability. After claiming a shift, you'll receive your delivery assignments and head out to complete customer orders.

Responsibilities
- Deliver cannabis orders safely and professionally to customers
- Verify customer identification and age at every delivery
- Follow all California cannabis regulations and company procedures
- Provide outstanding customer service during every interaction
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately
- Utilize company delivery software for routing and order management
- Communicate with dispatch throughout your shift
- Represent MJ Direct professionally in the community
- Maintain accurate delivery records
- Ensure deliveries are completed safely and efficiently
Vehicle Requirements
This position requires drivers to use their own personal vehicle.
Applicants must have:
- A reliable personal vehicle
- Valid California Driver License
- Current vehicle registration
- Current California auto insurance
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- A smartphone with reliable data service
All vehicles must pass an MJ Direct vehicle inspection prior to being approved for deliveries.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background screening
- Excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Weekend availability preferred
Previous experience with DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart, Amazon Flex, Spark, or other delivery services is a plus—but not required.

Scheduling
Our delivery operation is based on customer demand.
Drivers are not expected to remain on-site waiting for deliveries.
Instead:
- Delivery shifts become available as customer demand increases.
- Drivers are notified when routes are ready.
- Available shifts can be claimed based on your availability.
- Once a shift is claimed, you'll receive your assigned deliveries and begin your route.
This allows for a flexible work schedule while ensuring drivers are active when deliveries are available.
