Temporary Accounting Specialist
Position Summary:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance functions by maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. This role ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Accounting and Administrative Support
Perform assigned accounting and administrative support functions to ensure the accurate and efficient operation of the Accounting Department.
· Maintain organized accounting records and files, for Accounts Receivable, and other financial documentation.
· Prepare, format, and distribute various documents, reports, and correspondence as required.
· Enter job worksheets and related data into the job entry system with a high degree of accuracy.
· Process invoices and follow up on any late payments.
· Process cash receipts and ensure timely and accurate recording of customer payments.
· Scan, index, and maintain accounting documentation within the DocStar document management system.
2. Research and Problem Resolution
Investigate, track, and resolve accounting discrepancies, documentation issues, and transaction-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
· Identify and escalate significant issues when appropriate.
· Ensure supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
· Assist in maintaining compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
3. Communication and Collaboration
Maintain effective communication and coordination with management and personnel across the organization.
· Collaborate with internal departments to obtain information, resolve transaction discrepancies, and facilitate workflow efficiency.
· Provide support to Accounting Department team members as needed.
· Keep management informed of departmental activities, progress, and any significant concerns or issues.
4. Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties and special projects assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
· Maintain a clean, secure, and organized work environment.
· Assist with process improvement initiatives and other accounting and administrative assignments as needed.

· Complete Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and established accounting standards.
· Consistently meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in accounting, bookkeeping, or business administration is preferred.
Knowledge
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other related computer software. Knowledge of NetSuites a big plus.
· Basic understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial recordkeeping procedures.
Experience
- Minimum of one year of accounting, bookkeeping, administrative support, or related experience required.
- Previous data entry, typing, or keyboarding experience required.

Physical activities and requirements of this position
Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Pay: $24.91 - $30.00 per hour
