American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical night shift position requiring an active IL license and Med-Surg/Ortho/Telemetry experience.

Work in a Medical Surgical unit at a hospital and trauma center
-
Patient population includes adult Med-Surg, Med-Surg Ortho, and telemetry Med-Surg cases
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
13-week contract assignment

Active IL RN license currently in hand
-
Current BLS certification
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required

Med-Surg, Med-Surg Ortho, or Telemetry Med-Surg experience required

Utilize the nursing process while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
-
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care

Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
-
Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
-
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of patients' longitudinal plans of care

Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
